  • March 29, 2000 - Happy Birthday, Tim
  • March 28, 2000 - Tell my parents, "Happy Anniversary." Spring Break was too short and I didn't see any nudity (damn). Not to exciting. Tim and I took the Mac apart, though.
  • March 22, 2000 - Happy Birthday to me. Happy Birthday to me. Happy Birthday, dear me. Happy Birthday to me.
  • March 14, 2000 - I'm making some progress on the Win32 version of the Same Game. It seems to work fine so far. All I have left to do is to tweak the board (maybe some differently-shaped pieces, make it more scalable so you can maximize and reshape the window), add a functioning menu bar, and possibly a high score system. Dig this screen shot. Update - Oh yeah! I got functioning menus and scaling pieces. Check it out.
  • March 13, 2000 - Good gravy! I just got a massive (well, relative to the scores I've seen so far) score on Same Game. I took a screen shot for proof. I also updated the Links section. Update - stupid Tim just HAD to get a higher score than I did. Here is an interesting screen shot showing off his score (1024x768...haha!).
  • March 12, 2000 - The whole file permission thing for Java sucks (well, sorta, it makes some sense), that's why I don't have the high score system working (and why the applet won't load). The code itself works fine on my computer using appletviewer because I have a policy set up to allow the applet read & write access to the high score file. The problem occurs when I try to do that with IE across the internet instead of locally. Maybe I will figure out how to get this working. In the mean time, I'm trying to use my anger constructively by attempting to create a Win32 version of the Same Game. At least this one will be able to read and write from a text file just fine.
  • March 11, 2000 - I added a Links page and links to view my quote collection as well as to add a quote to the main page.
  • March 10, 2000 - I've been screwing around with the Same Game applet. I got it to the point where it knows whether or not there are more moves possible. I also changed the Reset pseudo-link in the corner to an actual button and added the components necessary to enter you name if you achieve a high score (however, this is hidden and will not work until I implement the high-score system). Also, the colors got changed back to their original values due to popular request (well, at least Tim's request). Oh, and I've been screwing with some XML stuff.
  • March 9, 2000 - Yup, this is about as simple as it gets. (yet another site re-design)
  • March 7, 2000 - I changed the gerbil cage "logo."  I'll probably get some information on the Projects page (I'll actually make a Projects page) sometime today. I'll put out a "to do" list for the Same Game program. Update - I think I managed to get my dates off. Whoops.
  • March 6, 2000 - I'm probably going to re-write the Book CGI software (the program that powers the guest book, etc) eventually. Before that, though, I'm attempting to create a clone of the ever popular Same Game in Java. Look for some information on that sometime.  Update - I have a really early version of my game available for testing. Check it out.
  • March 3, 2000 - Chicken Pot Pie == ambrosia. 'Nuf said. Well, maybe not. I suppose I should tell you that I've updated the design just a tad.
  • March 2, 2000 - Hey? Where did that spiffy site design go? I don't know. In the engineering spirit, as I say, I decided to just give up on trying to create original content and just focus on making things work (CGI, Java, and other stuff). So, this is what you get. I decided to go with some neat blue and green sort of like that on my roommate's site. I hope you don't go blind looking at all of the blue. Oh, by the way, both the Math Lab CGI and the Quote book links got moved to the Projects page.
